Abstract

Sawo Sukatali ST-1 is one of the superior commodities of the Sumedang region which has an important role in the Indonesian economy. Germinating sapodilla seeds takes a relatively long time because sapodilla seeds have thick and hard skin. One effort to overcome this problem is to soak the seeds using a chemical solution, namely KNO3. The aim of this research was to study the effect of KNO3 concentration on the germination of Sukatali ST-1 sapodilla seeds. This experiment was carried out at the Screenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Winaya Mukti University, Tanjungsari, Sumedang at an altitude of 864 meters above sea level. Conducted from March to June 2024. The experiment used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The seed soaking treatment design with various KNO3 concentrations consisted of 5 treatments (A: 0%, B: 0.4%, C: 0.6%, D: 0.8% and E: 1%) each repeated 5 times. time. The experimental results showed that soaking seeds with KNO3 had an effect on the germination of Sukatli ST-1 sapodilla seeds. The KNO3 concentration of 0.4% (B) gave the best results on the parameters of germination, germination rate and number of leaves at 9 WAP.
