About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Geoplanart is a scientific journal that publishes research articles and academic studies in the fields of planning, design, mapping, and environmental and spatial management, across various scales—from site, neighborhood, to regional levels.

The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Urban and Regional Planning and Design

  • Built Environment and Urban Architecture

  • Infrastructure Systems and Environmental Technologies

  • Environmental Management and Water Resources

  • Surveying, Mapping, and Geospatial Analysis for Planning

  • Transportation, Mobility, and Land Use Planning

  • Climate Change, Environmental Resilience, and Sustainable Development

  • Public Participation and Urban Policy

This journal welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, practitioners, and students from disciplines such as Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Geodetic Engineering, and other related fields.

Section Policies

Geoplanart accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles

  • Conceptual Papers or Literature Reviews

All submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial screening by the editor and be evaluated through a double-blind peer review process. Only manuscripts that meet scientific quality and ethical standards will be published.

Peer Review Process

Every submission to Geoplanart will:

  1. Undergo initial review by the editorial team to ensure topic relevance and document completeness.

  2. Be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind method.

  3. Receive one of the following editorial decisions: accepted, minor/major revisions required, or rejected.

The average review process takes approximately 2–4 weeks. The final decision rests with the editor based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Open Access Policy

Geoplanart is committed to the principle of open access. All articles are freely available to read, download, and distribute without subscription fees, supporting the broadest possible dissemination of knowledge.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Geoplanart upholds high ethical standards in scholarly publishing, referring to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. All parties involved (authors, editors, reviewers) are expected to comply with the following principles:

  • Authors: Ensure originality, avoid plagiarism, and do not submit to other journals simultaneously.

  • Editors: Operate objectively, fairly, and maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial process.

  • Reviewers: Provide honest evaluations and refrain from misusing manuscript content for personal gain.

Any violations of publication ethics will be addressed in accordance with the journal’s procedures.

Journal History

Geoplanart was first published in 2017 under the management of the Faculty Teknik, Perencanaan dan Arsitektur Universitas Winaya Mukti (UNWIM).

The journal has been registered in national indexing portals and has obtained an e-ISSN. At present, Geoplanart is actively improving its editorial quality and aiming for national accreditation.

Author Guideline

Authors who wish to submit their manuscripts to Geoplanart Journal are expected to adhere to the following requirements:

    1. Originality
      The manuscript must be an original scholarly work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

    2. Template
      The manuscript should follow the Geoplanart journal template, which can be downloaded from the this page

    3. Language
      Manuscripts may be written in either proper and formal Bahasa Indonesia or in clear and academic English.

    4. Abstract
      Authors are required to provide an abstract in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with a maximum length of 200 words each.

    5. References
      References must follow the journal’s citation style (APA Style). The use of reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero is strongly recommended.

    6. Authorship
      All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the work and must agree to the final version of the manuscript submitted.

    7. Plagiarism Check
      All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using similarity-checking software (e.g., Turnitin). The maximum similarity index allowed is 20%.

    8. Peer Review Process
      This journal applies a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments before a final editorial decision is made.

    9. Publication Ethics
      Authors must follow ethical guidelines in conducting and reporting their research. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or redundant publication is strictly prohibited.

    10. Article Processing Charges (APC)
      Currently, Geoplanart Journal does not charge any submission or publication fees.
