A ANALYSIS OF ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY OF MOON ORCHID PLANTS (Phalaenopsis amabilis L.)

Case Study: Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa Sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency

Abstract

Orchids are one of the ornamental plants with great potential compared to other types of ornamental plants, one of which is the moon orchid. This study analyzes the economic efficiency and productivity of moon orchid ornamental plants in Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method used is quantitative descriptive with primary data collection through interviews. The components of productivity and efficiency of the production factors are calculated using NPMXi/PXi. The results of the study show a productivity value of 3,579 seedlings/ha, and the efficiency value of the moon orchid production factor (NPMXi/Pxi), with seedlings being the most efficient production factor (1), followed by labor and pesticides (0.500), and the lowest efficiency is fertilizers (0.333).
