Abstract

he aim of this research is to determine the influence of forest farmer groups, the application of technology and the
empowerment of member farmers on Arabica coffee farming income. The unit of analysis is coffee farmers who are
members of the Forest Farmer Group in Cisurupan District, Garut Regency. The methodology for determining respondents
was taken from a sample of 65 people obtained using a simple random method. The analysis technique used is path analysis.
The level of achievement of the role of the Forest Farmer Group which consists of dimensions: learning class; production
unit; cooperation forum of 75.60%, the level of application of Arabica coffee cultivation technology consists of the
dimensions: Planting shade trees; Land Management; Use of seeds; Advanced Fertilization; Setting how to plant;
Maintenance; pruning; Harvest and post-harvest obtained 82.47% very good criteria. The level of achievement of
empowering Arabica coffee farmers as members of the Forest Farmer Group consists of dimensions: Accessibility;
independence; Participation; Protection; and Fulfillment of Needs obtained 74.53% Good criteria. The level of achievement
of Arabica Coffee Farming Income for Farmers of Forest Farmer Group Members which consists of the dimensions: coffee
selling price, productivity and total income earned is 75.90% Good criteria. There is a significant relationship between the
role of Forest Farmer Groups and the use of technology, as evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.760. This means that
the more effective the role of the Forest Farmers Group, the more advanced the application of technology will be. The
function of Forest Farmer Groups and the Application of Arabica Coffee Cultivation Technology has a beneficial impact on
the Empowerment of Member Farmers. The respective contributions are 68.30% and 17.28%. The participation of Forest
Farmer Groups, Application of Coffee Cultivation Technology, and Empowerment of Forest Farmer Groups have a
beneficial impact on the income generated from Coffee Farming. The magnitude of the influence respectively: 42.72% and
19.29% and 27.27%.
