The aim of this research is to study the interaction between planting distance and variety on the growth and yield
of corn (Zea mays L) and to obtain the planting distance and variety that can have the best influence on the growth
and yield of corn (Zea mays L). This research is of a verification nature by carrying out experiments in the field,
experimental activities were carried out in Oi Bura Village, Tambora District, Bima Regency, West Nusa
Tenggara Province, with an altitude of ± 850 meters above sea level. The environmental design used in this
experiment was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 2 (two) factors. The first factor is corn variety
and the second factor is planting distance, with 3 (three) levels each and repeated 3 times for a total of 27
experimental plots. The first factor is the sweet corn variety (V) which consists of three levels, namely: v1 = Bisi
18, v2 = NK 7328 Sumo, v3= Paragon. The second factor is planting distance (J) which consists of three levels,
namely: j1 = 25 cm x 75 cm, j2 = 50 cm x 75 cm, j3 = 25 cm x 50 cm. The results of the research showed that there
was an interaction between variety treatment and planting distance on corn plant height at 14 DAP and 21 DAP
and the use of the NK 7328 Sumo variety had a better effect compared to the Bisi 18 and Paragon varieties.
