Peer Review Process

Some policies in the review of Paspalum: Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian:

  1. Any submitted paper will be reviewed by reviewers.
  2. Review process employs Double-blind Review, that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewer.
  3. In the review process, reviewers consider the correspondence of title, abstract, discussion (findings) and conclusions. In addition, reviewers also consider the novelty, scientific impact and references used in the paper.

The response of the reviewers will be the basis for the Editor to conclude:

  1. Accept Submission
  2. Revisions Required
  3. Resubmit for review
  4. Resubmit elsewhere
  5. Decline Submission

An article was rejected for publication due to various considerations, including:

  1. The article does not fit the scope of journal.
  2. The article does not follow the rules of writing scientific papers or author guidelines.
  3. The fundamental methodological errors.
  4. The author refuses to make suggestions of improvements provided by the reviewer without a logical basis.
  5. There are indications of plagiarism of more than 20%.

 

 

Publication Frequency

Paspalum: Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian is published twice a year in March and September

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Publication Ethics

Paspalum : Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian is an article container of research studies covering the field of agricultural science which includes agrotechnology, agribusiness and agroforestry. To maintain the quality of the manuscript and avoid violations of publication/plagiarism in the publishing process, the editorial board established the ethics of paspalum: Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian. This publication's ethics rules apply to authors, editors reviewer partners, and journal/editorial managers. The ethics of the publication refer to the ethical provisions of scientific publications established by the Research Professors Council (RPC) of the LIPI in 2014. 


Author Ethics

1) Reporting; the author must provide information about the process and results of his research to the editor honestly, clearly, and thoroughly, while keeping his research data well and securely.

2) Originality and plagiarism; the author must ensure that the manuscript that has been sent/submitted to the editor is the original manuscript, written by himself, sourced from his own ideas and ideas, and not tracing the writing or ideas of others.  Authors are strictly prohibited from dissing the names of reference sources quoted to other people's names.

3) Repetition of delivery; the author must inform that the manuscript sent/submitted to the editor is a manuscript that has never been submitted/submitted to another journal/publication publisher. If there is a "redundancy" of the delivery of the manuscript to another publisher, the editor will reject the manuscript submitted by the author.

4) Author status; The author who submits the manuscript to the editor is the first co-author so that if a problem is found in the process of publishing the manuscript can be completed immediately.

5) Scriptwriting errors; the author must inform the editor immediately if any errors are found in the writing of the script, both the review and the edits. Such writing errors include writing names, affiliates/agencies, quotations, and other writings that may reduce the meaning and susbtansi of the manuscript. If that happens, the author should immediately propose a script repair.

6) Disclosure of conflicts of interest; the author must understand the ethics of the above scientific publications to avoid conflicts of interest with others, so that the manuscript can be processed smoothly and safely. 

 

 

   

Ethics Editor

1) Publication decisions; editors must ensure a thorough, transparent, objective, fair, and thoughtful process of reviewing the manuscript. This is the basis for the editor making decisions on a script, rejected or accepted. In this case, the editor's board serves as the script selection team.

2) Publication information; The editor must ensure that the screenwriting guidelines for the author and other interested parties are clearly accessible and in this Journal, both print and electronic versions.

3) Division of peer-reviewed manuscripts; The editor must ensure the reviewer and the script material for the review, as well as inform the terms and process of the review of the script clearly to the reviewer (Templet).

4) Objectivity and neutrality; editors must be objective, neutral, and honest in editing the script, regardless of the author's gender, business side, tribe, religion, race, inter-group, and nationality.

5) Confidentiality; the editor must maintain any information properly, especially related to the privacy of the author and the distribution of the script.

6) Disclosure of conflicts of interest; The editor must understand the ethics of the above scientific publications to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the process of publishing the manuscript runs smoothly and safely. 

 

Ethics Reviewer

1) Objectivity and neutrality; reviewers must be honest, objective, unbiased, independent, and only side with scientific truth. The process of reviewing the manuscript is conducted professionally without distinguishing the sex, business side, tribe, religion, race, inter-group, and nationality of the author.

2) Clarity of reference source; reviewers must ensure that the source of the reference/quotation of the manuscript is appropriate and credible (accountable). If any errors or irregularities are found in the writing of reference/citation sources, reviewers must promptly inform the editor to make improvements by the author according to the reviewer's notes.

3) Effectiveness of peer-review; reviewers must respond to the script that has been submitted by the editor and work according to the set peer-review time (maximum 2 weeks). If additional time is required in the review the manuscript must immediately report (confirmation) to the editor's secretariat. (Templet Letter of Duty)

4) Disclosure of conflicts of interest; Reviewers must understand the ethics of the above scientific publications to avoid conflicts of interest with others, so that the process of publishing the manuscript runs smoothly and safely. 

 

 

Ethics of Journal Manager

1) Decision making; journal managers/editorial boards must describe the mission and objectives of the organization, especially with regard to policy setting and journal publishing decisions in the absence of any particular interest.

2) Freedom; Journal managers must give reviewers and editors the freedom to create a comfortable work environment and respect the privacy of the author.  

 

Plagiarism Checker

Any script sent to the manager will go through the plagiarism checker, Turnitin with maximal similarity 30%.

 

References Management

In writing Citation and Bibliography, editor journal suggests authors to use the Mendeley Reference Management Software.
