Abstract

Realizing food self-sufficiency requires proper and correct planning and implementation of programs. Meanwhile, the availability of precise data will lead to good planning. The Republic of Indonesia's president, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the need for food self-sufficiency which is a government program implemented to achieve sovereignty and food security, which is oriented towards the welfare of farmers towards  a fair and prosperous society in line with the 1945 Constitution's mandate. Then, he also targeted Indonesia for energy self-sufficiency, which must be managed based on the principles of sustainable development because Indonesia has great potential to utilize abundant natural resources. The development of food and energy production as an effort to achieve self-sufficiency in the two sectors is not easy, but There are 16.83 million hectares of oil palm farms in Indonesia that will be the best alternative and Indonesia is a Top Producing Country with total production in 2023-2024, amounting to 44 million metric tons, or accounting for 57% of global production.
