Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Geoplanart is a peer-reviewed journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing publication malpractice in any form. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Ethical behavior is expected of all parties involved in the publication process—editors, authors, reviewers, and the publisher.

Duties of Editors

• Evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, regardless of authors’ race, gender, religious belief, ethnicity, political philosophy, or institutional affiliation.

• Ensure confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and disclose information only to those directly involved in the publication process.

• Make publication decisions based on reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial policies.

• Avoid using unpublished materials disclosed in manuscripts for personal research.

• Ensure a fair, double-blind peer review process.

Duties of Reviewers

• Maintain confidentiality and not use information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.

• Provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.

• Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

• Decline reviews if lacking expertise or unable to meet deadlines.

• Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Duties of Authors

• Submit only original works that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.

• Properly cite the works of others and avoid plagiarism in all forms.

• Disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest.

• Ensure all co-authors have approved the final version and agreed to submission.

• Notify the editor immediately if significant errors are discovered after publication.

• Obtain necessary ethical approvals for research involving human participants, if applicable.

Duties of the Publisher

• Support the editorial team in maintaining academic integrity.

• Guarantee editorial independence without interference from commercial or institutional interests.

• Provide infrastructure for publication, including OJS management, DOI registration, and long-term archiving.

• Ensure all processes comply with recognized ethical standards.

Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with excessive similarity or evidence of research misconduct (fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation) will be rejected or retracted.

Retraction and Correction Policy

If significant ethical violations or errors are identified after publication, the journal will issue a retraction or correction in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Sanctions

Violations of publication ethics—including plagiarism, duplicate submission, or fabricated data—may result in rejection, retraction, or prohibition of future submissions.
